Dive

You jump up onto a ladder that goes up very high and is held up by guy wires.  As you climb, you feel a narrowing of consciousness, and you notice that all the people that matter to you and that you have met along the way in your life begin to look the same, become the same color, and all the houses you have ever lived in which are visible at first get smaller and smaller as you climb into the clear blue sky.  As you climb you climb and climb until the diving platform above you becomes visible, and as you come up to it, you pull yourself upon onto it.  The sound of the people watching below has diminished to nothing.  Below you in the center of the pool imagine something that you really need to get to work on, to dive in to, to commit yourelf too.  For various dives and iterations of this visualization it can be different symbols, in my case, I imagine this very book I am working on.   There is a narrowing of consciouness to the immediate surroundings when when one is ascending into heights, and there is a sense in which we are always in the heights, we just fail to see it.  But realizing that we are always in the heights infinitely high suspended over space, can bring about the narrowing of consciousness that is necessary to really dive into something.

So now you dive.  You let go and fall through space and your hands go out before you.  When you see your hands, you ask youself if you are dreaming, and then the water rushes up to you and touch your goal, and still you plunge perfectly with almost no splash into the water.  As the density of the water stops your fall and you are turned up and begin to float upward, holding your completed work before you eyes, you begin to breath the water.  For a while then you successfully breath the water and hold the goal before your eyes.  The flow of the cleansing water in the pool is pleasant through your lungs, and it takes you back to the time before you were born.

I see it floating, its title, how many are sold, below.  Then, gracefully fixing my mind on the

Here in this card, depending on the path you take though the forest here of pines, which is high and close to the mountain top.  And when you look up at the mountain you see that the trees seem to fly up even above the tree lines….

"the quote from the castalian library that corresponds to this is that, in the nuclear age, everything, everyone, everything we do, going to work, walking the dog, going to school, is creating or destroying the universe."

Everything we do today is part of the fate of our earth, as Jonathan Schell wrote.

A man in a clown suit, perhaps even yourself, is wandering through the woods at sunrise, the tree leaves are all orange.  He see's a man drinking, serving tea, to a guest, but he cannot get their attention, no matter how he tries.

He passes a man, hammering away at a forge.  At the forge he is making Japanese swords which were famous for their keen edges.  From a nearby tree, three corpses hang from their hands, they are tried together, hanging vertically.  There is a sign nearby, "for testing swords," it reads.
