Despite the fact that Dame Darcy is rather infamous or famous as the case would have it, there is something about her I believe you can never get unless you hang around with with for an extended period as I did in l986, under the guise of dating her. There is something about her personality that is almost palpably different than any other personality I had met. She claims to have been a twin and to have eaten her twin in the womb -- that is one of the stories she tells and is one of her comic book storis. I believe this may have meant that she was a multiple personality which had learned how to exert some level of control over the development and deployment of those personalities….

A few of the cards I have met are based on people who I have met who were quite extraordinary, and among these, Dame Darcy is perhaps the most special.

Since I have recently had a dream in which a Dame Darcy flyer was being handed out (I will have to try to reproduce it for this page) I thought I would write about "the Dame today."

The reason she is so interesting to others I her great style, her artistic talent, her wonderful comic book series "Meatcake" and her Victorian life style. The reason she was so interesting to me is that I believe she was the first glass bead game player. From the moment that I started to hang around with her in 1996, my dreams were transformed, seemingly by her proximity. From normal, chaotic dreaming my dreams were changed into a nightly adventure, in and about a small Victorian town somewhere by a stormy and beautiful ocean. It rained there, often, and Dame Darcy lived there in the world of dreaming.
